I got up at 5am this morning to get into hospital at the arsecrack of dawn, had a bunch of chest and back shaved, and they poked around at my heart but weren't able to reproduce what was going on and couldn't see any issues either. Which is actually good because it means I'm at very low risk of having any major cardiac issues, basically the same as anyone else. 🎉 One of the things I forgot to mention in my last post was that one of the things the MRI picked up was that my heart was quite enlarged, which is probably from all the exercise I've been doing, so I'm toning that down. The cardiologist said today that given they couldn't reproduce the problem and couldn't see any causes, the tachycardia could actually be caused by the enlarged heart so it'll be interesting to see if I get fewer episodes over the next while as I go easier with exercising.
Annoyingly though, I was all set to go home but got REALLY lightheaded and had to lie down, so now I'm having to stay overnight. 😤 It's probably just low blood pressure caused by a combination of lying down for 10 hours, not having eaten much of anything, and the anaesthetic, so I'm not concerned but it still sucks. Really didn't want to stay.
At least I have my iPad here and the hospital wifi is sufficient for me to VPN home and watch more Babylon 5.
