Today we had an extremely lazy morning, then went for a walk along Chapel St through South Yarra into Prahran to go visit the Prahran Market and the Chapel St Bazaar. The Market wasn't that interesting, mostly just food, but the Bazaar was amazing. Massive and just absolutely chock full of the most random stuff, from vintage cameras and old paintings to Playboy and Penthouse magazines from the 1980s and earlier. Chapel St itself gave me EXTREMELY King St in Newtown vibes, if you took away the tram tracks and overhead wiring it's an absolute dead-ringer.
In South Yarra we've seen not one but TWO McLarens, a Ferrari, several high-end Porsches, and a goddamned Rolls Royce as well. It was interesting how quickly the atmosphere changed from "gentrified high-end wankery" in South Yarra to "grimy and a bit run down" in Prahran as we walked south along Chapel St.
