We went out for dinner tonight at a pub called The Fiddler. It used to be called The Mean Fiddler and was ranked as the most violent pub in NSW. They cleaned up their act like eight years ago after there was a big push by the government and police to start fining venues, and it's actually bloody lovely now! Really nice outdoor courtyard area, and there's there's BIG Irish pub section with all wood panelling and multiple levels and comfy chairs and nooks and crannies. We're planning on going there again specifically when the weather is properly cold so we can go to the Irish bit and engage cozy mode.
I got a Guinness pie with mash and mushy peas which was pretty tasty and Kristina got a burger, which wasn't anything to write home about but it was standard pub food and the chips were quite good.
