We had a paid-for-by-work lunch at this restaurant in Surry Hills called Chin Chin, and oh my god it was AMAZING. We got the set menu because there were nine of us, and it was all dishes to share. I missed taking a photo of one of the dishes (the fried squid with nahn jim), but the absolute highlight was the hot and sour brussels sprouts with mint and red chilli, holy shit they were incredible.

We've had a tin of black beans sitting in the cupboard for like a year, because Kristina can't eat them anymore. Finally got around to using them and I made a batch of Spanish rice with them and chorizo to have during the week, and it is gooood.

I've done fourteen thousand steps so far today, have hit 300% of my move goal, recorded some drums in Logic Pro earlier this afternoon for a song I've been noodling around with, and am currently making a double batch of lentil rice with bush curry seasoning to have with eggplant kasundi and Greek yoghurt for lunches during the week. So I decided to treat myself with some ice cream with Ice Magic, crushed peanuts, sprinkles, and a shot of Kahlúa on top. 😁

I have no idea why but I've been uncomfortable in bed for the last week-ish and not sleeping very well, and today I'm feeling generally all-over achy. Decided to make myself feel better by going trashy and hitting up the shops to buy some vanilla ice cream and Ice Magic and let me tell you, it's pretty excellent.

I made gluten-free brownies for Kristina's birthday! It's a new recipe we haven't tried before so it's possible it'll be awful, but we'll find out this afternoon when we have it.

What an excellent dinner that was. Hash browns, scrambled eggs, and Aldi smoked salmon (which while not the best, was still surprisingly tasty).

Well, that's annoying. I decided to make another batch of rosemary chocolate chunk cookies but didn't have enough left of the block of chocolate I use (Darrell Lee's dark chocolate) so bought another at the shops the other day. Apparently they've changed their formulation because the chocolate from the new block COMPLETELY melted, versus the older block that stayed pretty much intact in chunks. I guess it won't really change the flavour, but it's going to be significantly messier to eat!
