@yayKM was making pour-over coffee with a V60 setup for a while and it made the house smell absolutely AMAZING, but pouring coffee slowly and carefully out of the regular large kettle was a bit tricky (and also she's stopped making pour-overs anyway). I wanted to expand my coffee horizons a touch so I ordered a gooseneck kettle from the same people that make the V60 itself so I can start making some!

We very rarely have sweetened condensed milk in the house, but when we do, I make a café bombón. 👌🏻

It's 22˚C and 13% humidity and totally sunny outside, I've done all the laundry, mowed and whippersnipped and fertilised the front and back lawns, cleaned the shower, and now it's time for the first iced mocha of the season. 👌🏻

I also bought a spring-loaded coffee tamper for the espresso machine which arrived today. Fits the portafilter like a GLOVE, and first impressions of the improvement are very positive. I'm keen to see how it goes with my single-origin straight espresso tomorrow morning.

Yasssss, birthday haul. 🎉 I still need to tweak the grind fineness—and the single dose attachment I'm getting from my parents on Sunday will help with reducing the amount of beans I end up wasting because I ground too much—but man, even with that it's a night and day difference between the old machine and the new. I had no idea espresso could be so thick and rich!

We had a bunch of sweetened condensed milk left over from the sweet potato pie Kristina made yesterday when my parents came over, so I made a café bombón with some of and damn is it good! ½ espresso, ½ sweetened condensed milk, then stirred together (and I added ice). 👌🏻
