Good news! The drum kit is set up and works perfectly. Bad news, the reason there was a delivery estimate of Wednesday and why I received the drum kit today is because the kit was shipped directly from Roland's warehouse in Dee Why, but the drum stool, kick pedal, and drumsticks are coming from the place I ordered them from in Newcastle, and those three things are what're arriving on Wednesday. 😛

BOOM. Trigger pulled on the TD-17KV! 🥁🎉 I am EXTREMELY excited about this, I loved playing the drums in Guitar Hero World Tour but they were frustratingly poorly-made, and would frequently not register hits which would break my streaks. (And fun fact, with the right adapter these Roland drums can actually be hooked up to Guitar Hero which I am TOTALLY doing).

I spent this afternoon cleaning and tidying and rearranging the back room because I'm going to buy myself an electronic drum kit and learn to play drums! And we have absolutely nowhere else to put it, haha. I was originally looking at the Roland TD-07KV, but I'm leaning towards splurging for the TD-17KV instead...

Woohoo, my new guitar input arrived! I took it for a quick spin and the sound quality is noticeably improved over the old one, everything sounds crisper and clearer (old was 16-bit/44.1KHz, new one is 24-bit/96KHz). This was paid for by selling some of that funny money that Keybase gave everyone a few years back, turns out it's actually worth something now!

Okay this seriously rules: my guitaring is going well and at the moment I'm practicing some power chords, and have been just using the metronome in BIAS FX Mobile to keep time. I remembered out of the blue that GarageBand has a "virtual drummer" thing where it'll automatically play a whole drum kit for you with all sorts of different styles and presets. BIAS FX can run in the background while doing this, so I gave it a go and it's SO MUCH FUN! Way better than playing along to a metronome. 🤘🏻 (Yes there's a handful of cocked-up chords in there where my fingers didn't quite get to the right place).

I'm suddenly realising why guitar picks come in bulk packs. I was wondering why my picking wasn't sounding quite right, then noticed how much had been worn off the point of the one I've been using since I got the guitar a few months ago!
