A photo of the (ENORMOUS) box of the new edition of Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team. The box art has a painting of a huge cathedral-like starship floating in the depths of space on the left-hand side, and on the right is a heavily armed and armoured guy in a chonky helmet holding what looks like a beefy shotgun. The tagline for this is "Intense boarding actions in the 41st millennium."

Who has two thumbs and now owns even more plastic? This guy!

A photo of my painting desk with a bunch of industrial-looking walls in grey plastic already assembled at the right, a sprue with more walls on it in the middle, and the assembly instruction booklet at the left. The desk is covered in the little bits of plastic I've chopped off the terrain to tidy it up.

Current status: Assembling the seemingly endless amounts of terrain from the new Kill Team box.

A photo of ten assembled and undercoated humanoid but extremely clearly not human miniatures, plus two more that look kind of like a cross between a dog and a pig. The humanoids are fairly spindly and have faces that almost look like turtles, and their "hair" is spines that stick straight out from the back of their heads. Their clothing is quite organic, there's a bit of armour but it's quite worn-looking. They're all wielding various weapons, mostly extremely long rifles.

Finally got my Kroot from the Into The Dark box assembled and undercoated! The organic feel of them should be a nice change of pace from the clean lines of the Voidscarred.

A photo of twelve armed and armoured human soldier miniatures assembled and undercoated. Apart from the leader who is (as is traditional in the Warhammer 40,000 universe) not wearing a helmet, all the rest have cool-looking helmets on that are very reminiscent of old diving bell helmets, just with a regular visor instead of a narrow round window. They all have tanks on their backs and pipes leading from them to the masks, and have a variety of guns. One of them has a huge riot-shield-type thing and is aiming a futuristic shotgun through a slot in the top of it.

A top-down view of twelve round bases that the miniatures will be glued onto. They've been painted in a copper colour and the bases are sculpted to look like decking from like a steampunk starship, lots of pipes and things going everywhere, and a few of the requisite skull logos that are a requirement in any Warhammer 40,000 miniature or terrain.

I needed a bit of a palette cleanser (pun not entirely unintended) after painting 32 of the 60 miniatures in the Warhammer Quest: Cursed City box, so I decided to finally assemble and start painting the Navis Breachers from the Kill Team Into The Dark box! (Actually that's not entirely true as it's not JUST the Breachers from the ITD box: I bought a second set of Breachers from one of the people at work who'd bought, uh, one of the boxes that came with two sets of Breachers in it and he didn't need the second set, so I'm able to field a full team without needing to use the C.A.T Unit and the Gheistskull.) The miniatures are temporarily superglued onto the wooden dowels for painting rather than going directly onto their bases immediately because I'm using the very cool-looking "Void War" set of pages that Games Workshop sells instead and need to be able to paint them separately to be able to do the bases justice. The plan is to do a wash over them after what you see here and then a few layers of drybrushing, which I can't do if the miniatures are already glued onto the bases.
