What a glorious morning for a spot of gardening.

Hell yeah, that's a damn fine-looking front yard!

Fortunately I was able to trim our front hedge this morning before it got really hot. (Even so, it wasn't even 10am when I'd finished and it was already 32°).

Phew, first project of the long weekend done. We've got a section of the yard around the back where the hot water system and air conditioner live and where nobody ever goes that just constantly gets choked with weeds. I pulled up as much as I could and sprayed it with weed killer. And now, I'm pooped.

So since my last front garden update (https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/1397), I realised that that nice cheerful blue planter box was busily rusting, and the left-hand lavender died because it'd grown roots through the hole in the bottom and when I lifted it up I destroyed those roots. So today we got some new lavender and pots and did some rearranging! (The right hand lavender had also mostly died due to the same issue, but part of had managed to hang on).

Our front garden is looking nice and green and colourful!

I figure I should take an up-to-date photo of our lovely front garden while it's looking relatively green, before the Stage 2 water restrictions kick in next week.

Fuck that was a lot of effort. Three weeks worth of not having mowed the lawn due to either it raining or being sick, the mower conked out multiple times and the bin is totally full of grass clippings and that was JUST the front yard! On the bright side it looks magnificent now.

Added some lavender to our increasingly-colourful front garden!

Our kalanchoes are doing quite nicely! (The one at the left in the planter box suffered a bit during the frost we had a couple of weeks ago but seems to be recovering).
