Today we went for a walk from Bondi to Clovelly and then played lawn bowls! I haven't played lawn bowls in so long, definitely well prior to COVID hitting. We were a bit iffy on the finer points of the scoring but I THINK we won. 😅
I also took a handful of "proper" photos on the walk and posted them to Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/virtualwolf/albums/72177720311505668
I've done the mowing and whippersnippering on every square centimetre of grass and weeds on our block of land, plus a couple of bits of the neighbours' on either side at the street at the front, have done the edging of the driveway, and also manually pulled up a lot of the obnoxious weed/grass that gets everywhere along the back fence. It all looks excellent, and I'm now officially DONE with doing anything that involves moving for today. ::collapses::
My first #KillTeam Corsair Voidscarred is finished! Now to actually paint the rest of the squad, given I finished my test Genestealer Cults miniature back in January (https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/2270) and still haven't done any more of those either... 😅
I went to see #Heilung tonight and HOLY SHIT IT WAS FUCKING EPIC. Legit chills at multiple points during the performance. There was no opening band, but before Heilung themselves came out they had two First Nations people come out and give a bit of a speech and play a short bit of music, and everyone gave them a really good cheer which was wonderful.
I decided to stay at a hotel near the venue rather than needing to keep track of the train times (and then having @yayKM wake up from Beanie barking when I got home at like 12:30-1am or whatever). What a brilliant choice that was, and check out the view I was greeted with when I got into my room!
I took a ton of photos of the concert, it was equal parts music and theatric performance, and will process and post them tomorrow.
Today is Beanie's tenth birthday!
@yayKM is in the office today, and whenever that's the case, rather than snoozing with us at the back of the house in our home office, he spends most of his time outside sniffing the breeze and listening to all the neighbourhood noises. He just absolutely does not care what I'm up to if @yayKM isn't home, heh.
After Featherdale, we went into the city for dinner at a Chinese restaurant called "Lotus". It was definitely tasty, but WAY overpriced, next time we'd just as soon go to Chatswood and get the same food for about a third to half the price.
After that we did a brief wander around Barangaroo, and while this photo isn't the world's best quality (it wasn't even night mode, just the ultra-wide angle lens on my iPhone so it struggled a bit with the low light), I REALLY love the feel of it. Gives me very Bladerunner-esque vibes.
I went into the city today for an in-person farewell lunch for our intern, but it turns out she came down sick and couldn't make it. 😞 Completely miserable day too, cold and dreary and rainy. On the bright, the views are still decent and we got Schnitz for lunch!
