Tonight was Magic at @[email protected]'s! It was Commander format which I'm not the _most_ fond of, but the first deck I played was a Zombie deck which had quite a few cards I was familiar with from the Innistrad block that my own (non-Commander) Zombie deck comes from, and I smashed it. 😁 ZOMBIES FOR DAYS. (It helped that I had an amazing starting hand.)
Second game was a win from @[email protected], and third was our other friend so it was nice and even!
It's a pre-Christmas package bonanza!
(I should clarify that none of these are actually Christmas presents... I ordered the Xbox expansion card on the 23rd of November, got a notification on the 7th of December that it'd shipped and would arrive on the 14th, and it only just arrived today. And the Magic decks were ordered when they were up for pre-order back in like JULY and were meant to ship in October but there were stock issues from supplier, and I'd ordered the miniatures and paint in the same order so it all got held up.)
We went over to a friend's house tonight to play the new Magic/Warhammer 40,000 cross-over decks that Wizards of the Coast released and man they're fun. (The fun levels were definitely increased by me absolutely stomping him on three occasions, though the fourth game was a lot less one-sided).
They did such a good job of combining the two, and the artwork on all the cards is magnificent and extremely 40K.
