A photo taken at night looking towards the end of the train platform. The roofed area ends right in front of where I'm standing so the rest of the station is covered in water and you can see the rain busily bucketing down next to the lights. Overall is just looks miserable (and basically is).

I've been in the office for the second day in a row this week, and am in again tomorrow, because we're having a team event and have flown people in from our other offices, but my god you could not have asked for worse weather. I was originally planning on being in all five days, but Thursday's forecast is for 55-70mm of rain with a chance of thunderstorm that's possibly severe "with heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding", and like fuck I'm dealing with the trains probably melting down during that.

I stayed a bit late because we had an in-office dinner and @[email protected] was also out for dinner with a friend, and we ended up catching trains only 15 minutes apart so I'm waiting at the train station so we can walk back to the car together.

A photo of a rather mangy-looking sheep tucking into a big bunch of scraggly-looking bushes. Directly behind it is the wire fence at the front of the yard, and I'm probably all of a metre and a half or so away from the sheep.

On way in to the office today for a dentist appointment after work and hopefully also a jam session, and I came across a sheep that was really enjoying its nomming. It was just utterly unconcerned about me standing right next to it.

There are a bunch of people watching from the surrounds. It's mid-afternoon, completely sunny and warm, and the sky is blue with a few fluffly white clouds hanging around.

A zoomed in photo of a number of people standing around an upturned blue portable shade tent thing (I don't know what the actual word is, the ones with just metal bars for legs that sit on the ground and have a tent material roof over them). Some people are just standing with their hands on their hips and others are actually trying to turn it back upright again.

They're standing in a slight hilly and very scruffy-looking field, with three five-storey unit blocks in the background at the left, some ramshackle farm buildings a bit further down the field in the middle distance, and then trees beyond and mountains in the far distance. It's completely sunny but from this angle the sky is almost entirely fluffy clouds.

Breathtakingly #GloriousSydney again today so we went for another walk, and this time the sports field was absolutely PACKED with kids playing rugby league. It was windy enough that one of their portable tent things overturned, we saw some quality doggos (not pictured because they were moving too much), and saw some horses on the way back. A++ walk.

Absolutely off the charts #GloriousSydney areas today, so we went for a good walk. No sports on but the cricket nets were full and we met some galas.

A view looking down a path between a good six or seven blocks of four- and five-storey units on either side, plus another one in the distance at the end. The sky is completely blue, and there's at least a bit of greenery along the sides of the path.

A photo looking across into the middle of a sports field where there is a cricket pitch set up and a number of players conferring in the middle. Beyond them is the sports field building which presumably has the toilets and I guess some sort of canteen in it, and just peeking out over the top of that building are the tops of the roofs of the houses beyond.

We went for a big walk this afternoon, you couldn't have asked for better weather. We went up towards the new areas they're building closer to the train station, there are SO MANY unit blocks going up, this all used to be farmland. At least there are a decent amount of trees, and we also stumbled across a big sports field nestled away where there was a very intense game of cricket going on!

A photo of a game of Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team. The board looks like the metal of the inside of an ancient steampunk starship, and the terrain is a bunch of walls all connected together in the same steampunk style to form number of interconnecting rooms. Closest to the camera are the six hulking and putrid Plague Marines in large sci-fi-looking dull green amour with all sorts of tentacles and demon faces coming out of the armour, and at the far side away from the camera are six Ultramarines of broadly the same shape armour as the Death Guard, but it's a rich blue and they don't have tentacles and demon faces.

In the office today for after-work Kill Team! On the way to the train station this morning the sheep were out having a good nom and I said hello and they all stared blankly at me haha.

The Kill Team game itself was Plague Marines versus Angels of Death, I've really struggled to figure out how the Plague Marines were meant to be played and had a REALLY frustrating game week before last where I conceded before the end of turn 2. This game was the complete opposite of that, the final score was 11-3 and I wiped out every single enemy operative and lost none in return!

I can't claim too much credit though because my friend who was playing against me had read the Plague Marines rules and gotten a sense of how they worked, and kept reminding me of stuff and making suggestions. He's generally played a lot more Kill Team than I have so has the concepts and tricks down a lot better too, and plus he deliberately took a fairly melee-focused roster which meant that with my Contagion strategic ploy he was always at -1 to hit, which it turns out is surprisingly powerful. He also had a couple of terrible rolls, like rolling five dice for one of his nasty melee warriors and four of them being failures. 😬

Still, I'm feeling a bit better about them, I just need to play them more, though I also need to figure out some method of organising myself so I don't keep doing things like forgetting strategic ploys that I've paid command points for.

A nighttime photo of some sheep grazing in the front yard of a house. The photo is lit from the street light just behind me so the light fades off as it gets towards the brick house at the back of the yard.

Oh and to top it all off, on the walk home I came across some sheep having a nom!
