I'm in the office for a team lunch today, we went to Mr. Wong's on Bridge Lane in the CBD and holy crap it was amazing! I am SO FULL. No regrets.

A photo of a game of Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team. The board looks like the metal of the inside of an ancient steampunk starship, and the terrain is a bunch of walls all connected together in the same steampunk style to form number of interconnecting rooms. On the left are nine Aeldari (think space elves) in elegant fuchsia-coloured armour, and at the right are ten heavily-armoured human warrior women in black armour and red cloaks, all with striking white hair.

First game of Kill Team with my Voidscarred tonight! It was against the Sisters of Battle, I won 18-13. Really enjoyed this layout from the new Critical Tac-Ops, it required a lot of strategising about where to go and which hatches to open when. The Voidscarred are so much fun to play, they've got lots of things they can do and the free Dash action every turn is brilliant, it makes them incredibly fast to move around. Good LORD the Sisters' "Divine Intervention" tactical ploy that lets them ignore the damage from a single attack dice was a pain though. It would have been four or five times I was about to kill a miniature and my opponent was able to pull that off to save them! Favourite moment was absolutely melting one unit with my Starstorm Duellist's dual fusion pistol, shooting another with her shuriken pistol, and then using the Way Seeker's Warp Fold psychic power to swap positions with the Duellist and proceed to beat down on another unit that was next to the one I'd just melted. I ended up sweeping up and around the top to claim six objectives, while my forces at the bottom ended up getting annihilated and not accomplishing a whole lot, though it DID end up with a bunch of my opponent's forces down there without being able to get to anywhere useful so it worked out well enough in the end.

A photo of a takeaway cardboard food container with three pieces of lamb mince with herbs and onions in them, alongside fries drizzled with red chilli sauce and yoghurt, and there's very pink cabbage sitting next to the fries. It looks fantastic and tasted even better.

I'm in the office today to play some multiplayer Magic the Gathering after work, we went out for lunch to this place called Kabul Social that does Afghan food and hot DAMN is it amazing! I got the lamb box and it was spiced to absolute perfection.

I'm in the office today to catch up with a friend after work, and this cool bit of artwork has been put on the stairs leading out from Wynyard!

The first Sydney Fediverse meet was a great success. It was fantastic to finally see @[email protected], @[email protected] (and his non-Fediverse wife), and @[email protected] in person! Also I had a dark chocolate and Guinness cake and it was gooood. We've all decided we need to do this again except also with @[email protected] and @[email protected] in attendence next time.

I went into the city today for an in-person farewell lunch for our intern, but it turns out she came down sick and couldn't make it. 😞 Completely miserable day too, cold and dreary and rainy. On the bright, the views are still decent and we got Schnitz for lunch!

I came into the office today to pick up the last of the personal belongings I'd left here from March of 2020 and to play some more Kill Team after work, and man, the views from here never get old.
