Mid-week gaming this week was Chaos vs. Chaos in Warhammer Underworlds: the Gorechosen of Dromm against Khagra's Ravagers!
It ended up being a draw at 10-10, but I was extremely happy with that because JESUS CHRIST @[email protected]'s rolling was on FIRE. I think he saved against every single attack I made for the like the first turn and a half with the exception of one initial wallop from the Gorehulk, but the most ridiculous was me rolling two dice on attack and rolling two crits, and to avoid Khagra dying he needed to roll two crits on defence ...which he pulled off.
I guess it makes up for the absolute wholloping I gave him last time (https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/2302). 😅
I took Khorne's finest for a spin tonight, and while they ended up winning 14-5 (and are quite fun to play, to boot!), at the start of the last round it really could have gone either way. My leader had one single wound left and I had several things that relied on him being alive. 😬
What a productive day that was! Got all my remaining warbands assembled and primed and zenithal-highlighted. I'm getting the new Underworlds box, Gnarlwood, for Christmas, so my aim is to get all my remaining warbands painted before then.
And then I really should start at least assembling and priming some of my Kill Team squads, since nearly all of them haven't even been taken off the sprues yet.
Last year we had a "creative refresh day" at work, where our whole department got a free day off to go do something creative and we could expense the stuff we got. Naturally I bought a Warhammer Underworlds warband (https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/1712) and painted them (https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/1719), and we've been having a monthly just "refresh day" pretty much since then, just a free day off work.
We've got another refresh day on Friday next week, and my team decided we'd do something remote but as a team, I suggested miniature painting and a bunch of people were keen for it so naturally I've bought another warband. 😁
