Mid-week gaming this week was Chaos vs. Chaos in Warhammer Underworlds: the Gorechosen of Dromm against Khagra's Ravagers!
It ended up being a draw at 10-10, but I was extremely happy with that because JESUS CHRIST @[email protected]'s rolling was on FIRE. I think he saved against every single attack I made for the like the first turn and a half with the exception of one initial wallop from the Gorehulk, but the most ridiculous was me rolling two dice on attack and rolling two crits, and to avoid Khagra dying he needed to roll two crits on defence ...which he pulled off.
I guess it makes up for the absolute wholloping I gave him last time (https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/2302). 😅
Mid-week Warhammer Underworlds with @[email protected]!
This time it was me playing the tricksy Skaven, Skittershank's Clawpack, and him playing Khagra's Ravagers. I'd played the Clawpack once before and it went disastrously poorly, but it seems to depend entirely on the cards you draw and when. This time was FAR better, there were lots of fun things to do and we ended up calling it at the end of the second round when I was ahead 13-7 and he had only a single fighter left.
And tonight's Wednesday night gaming was Warhammer Underworlds! Khagra's Ravagers versus Grashrak's Despoilers. The Despoilers were mine, made with the new Nemesis format, and while I won 12-8, I don't think the Tooth and Claw deck is the right one for them, they're a bit too fragile to be wading into combat.
First game of Warhammer Underworlds in a little while, the vampires of the Crimson Court vs. sneaky aelves of the Shadeborn. It was a very low-scoring game, I won with the Court 9-7 but on THREE separate occasions @yayKM needed to roll a critical success (essentially rolling a 6 on one single D6) or one of her characters would die, and she managed it all three times.
Mid-week gaming this week was a FOUR-player game of Warhammer Underworlds! Unsurprisingly we only got through one round, but one of the players hadn't even played before. I managed to eke out a win on 8 glory, and Kristina came back from nowhere to finish on 7.
We had another visit from @[email protected] today. Beanie barked a bit more than he has previously but it'd been a while, and it was more of an "I'm excited" kind of thing and not "Oh god who is this!"
We played our standard game of Warhammer Underworlds, me playing Lady Harrow's Mournflight (the spirits), Kristina playing Myari's Purifiers (the elves) and @[email protected] playing The Grymwatch (the ghouls) for the first time. Despite a shocking start from @[email protected], he staged a hell of a comeback and the final score ended up with me on 11, him on 9, and Kristina on 8.
It's been quite a while but we played some more Warhammer Underworlds tonight! The Crimson Court (vampires) versus Myari's Purifiers (elves), I played the vampires which I realised I hadn't actually played before, and won 10-5 despite a very poor start.
Another visit from @[email protected], another game of Warhammer Underworlds! Beanie was really good, we didn't even need to break out the treats to get him to stop barking.
The Underworlds game was very one-sided, Kristina won 12-7-7 and I only scored my last three glory at the VERY end of the whole game.
We were going to go play some X-wing at a friend's place with my new play board, but he wasn't feeling up for it so Kristina and I played some Warhammer Underworlds instead! Aelves versus filthy goatmen, and despite a strong start, it all fell apart at the end for me thanks to some terrible rolling on my part (and some really lucky rolling on Kristina's), and she won 11-9.
