A photo of a three-player game of Warhammer Underworlds. A closeup photo of the bloody battle at the beginning of round two. All four of my Shadeborn are within one or two hexes of two of the vampires of the Crimson Court, with a third standing just behind them. And behind _them_ are the Gorechosen of Dromm, two within charge range of any of the Shadeborn or Crimson Court, and Dromm himself standing a little further back in the distance.

We were going to have a bad movie night with @[email protected] and another friend, but said friend had to cancel because he was coming down sick so instead we had @[email protected] over anyway and played Warhammer Underworlds instead! (The original edition, not the new one.) I played the Aelves of the Shadeborn, @[email protected] played the Khorne's finest, the Gorechosen of Dromm, and @[email protected] had the vampires of the Crimson Court.

Man it was a hell of a game, the start of the second round consisted of an incredibly brutal three-way fight between all of us, and the Crimson Court lost all but one of their warriors before the end of that round. My Shadeborn were doing okay, but I lost two warriors during the second round which denied me a couple of objective scoring opportunities, then Sylark was killed during the third round by a ridiculously long-range charge of 8 by the Crimson Court's remaining warrior Vellas von Faine. The Gorechosen only lost a single warrior right at the end (granted they only start with three), taken out by Valyssa of the Shadeborn, and I was able to score two objectives right at the end, which meant that the final score was 8-8-7, with the draw being between the Shadeborn and the Gorechosen! I'm honestly amazed that the Crimson Court managed to get so close with how badly it started for them.

Closest to the camera are the Exiled Dead, a warband of seven miniatures consisting of six zombies and the zombiemaster Deintalos. Four of the have very Frankenstein-esque metal poles coming out of them like they're being animated by electricity, the fifth is more upright and has armour and a halberd, and the sixth is crouched down low to the ground. Deintalos is wearing a flowing purple robe and carrying a staff. On the other side of the board are the Gorechosen of Dromm, a three-fighter warband consisting of very large meaty-looking warriors in large red armour.

A close-up of the Gorehulk, a very large miniature that looks like he's been partially transformed into a demon with massive muscular arms and shoulders and a huge set of horns sprouting from both his head and behind his shoulders. His right arm pulled back like he's about to punch the absolutely living shit out of something. Surrounding him are four of my zombies.

@yayKM and I played our first 1v1 game of Warhammer Underworlds in quite a while this afternoon, @yayKM with the Gorechosen of Dromm versus my Exiled Dead!

It started out well for the Exiled Dead in the first turn, I killed The Gorehulk and was up 3-0 glory, but it absolutely fell apart after that even despite some very lucky rolling on my part. I scored zero more glory until I killed Herax in the second-last activation of the whole game, and scored one objective worth one single glory at the very end of the game. There were other objectives I might have been able to score, but @yayKM managed to kill the exact person in the exact spot that I needed them to be in in order to score them. >_< The final score was 11-5, oof.

Four of the zombies have poles coming out of them with wires connected between each pole, in a very Frankensten-esque manner. One has an arm that's WAY larger than its regular arm that's been grafted onto it.

And that's the Exiled Dead all done! I HAD to add some blood effects, of course. 😁

The Exiled Dead are coming along excellently, I reckon I'll probably have them all finished and varnished tomorrow!

A photo of the side and rear of a hunched-over zombie that has poles coming out of its back. The poles are connected to each other via wires, and the wires are MEANT to look like they're lit up with electricity and there's light being cast on its back but... it doesn't look very good.

Another zombie but from the front and, this one is upright and mid-shamble with one hand reaching out in front of it. It's got the same poles and wires sticking up from behind it that the other one did, but I didn't bother doing the lighting effect and they're just dark green. The zombie's skin is mostly skin-coloured but with an unnatural green hue to it and you can see part of its brain where the top of its skull is missing.

I decided to start on the Warhammer Underworlds warband The Exiled Dead, tried doing some object source lighting on the first one and it looks pretty shit, to the point that I may just re-base coat it tomorrow and start over. Really happy with the second though!

Mid-week Warhammer Underworlds with @[email protected]!

This time it was me playing the tricksy Skaven, Skittershank's Clawpack, and him playing Khagra's Ravagers. I'd played the Clawpack once before and it went disastrously poorly, but it seems to depend entirely on the cards you draw and when. This time was FAR better, there were lots of fun things to do and we ended up calling it at the end of the second round when I was ahead 13-7 and he had only a single fighter left.

There's the Grymwatch (cannibalistic ghouls) closest to camera, with the Crimson Court (elegant vampires) to the right, and the Wyrmspat (disciples of Nurgle who thrive on spreading disease and decay) to the left.

We had Ben over again for Beanie socialising and Warhammer Underworlds this afternoon! The Beanie socialising went extremely well, we gave him one single one of his calming pills this time and we can definitely go entirely without them next time.

The game of Warhammer Underworlds was SO GOOD, and INSANELY close! Ben won again with 13, but Kristina and I tied on 12! It seriously could have gone any way.

We played our first game of Warhammer Underworlds with the new Harrowdeep rules, and using the two warbands I most recently painted! It was SUPER fun and ended up being a draw at 11 each.

I went over to the lounge to pack things up and unsurprisingly Beanie was entirely amongst it.

A photo of the Warhammer Underworlds warband "Rippa's Snarlfangs". It consists of three goblins with Mongolian-style hats riding on the back of big wolves. One has a big spear, another is aiming a bow and arrow, and the third is waving a sword around.

A photo of the Warhammer Underworlds warband "Da Kunnin' Krew". Two tall and slender but fairly heavily-armoured orks, one with a trident and whip and the other with a big snappy-claw thing on a pole. There's also three goblins, two heavily armoured and one wearing a leather helmet.

Ok, some exercise followed by a shower and dinner gave me a bit of a second wind. I had to call it at two warbands though, because it's started raining in the exact direction that comes into the back room, which means I need to have the door closed, which means WHEEEEEE GLUE FUMES.
