Another game of Warhammer Underworlds, @yayKM took the Gorechosen of Dromm again and after last game I realised that horde warbands really don't work against the Gorechosen so I went for the undead majesty of the vampires of the Crimson Court.
It wasn't looking great for the vampires at the end of Turn 2, but a couple of lucky rolls on my part meant the game ended up with none of my vampires dead, all three of the Gorechosen wiped off the board, and I ended up winning 14-8.
@yayKM and I played our first 1v1 game of Warhammer Underworlds in quite a while this afternoon, @yayKM with the Gorechosen of Dromm versus my Exiled Dead!
It started out well for the Exiled Dead in the first turn, I killed The Gorehulk and was up 3-0 glory, but it absolutely fell apart after that even despite some very lucky rolling on my part. I scored _zero_ more glory until I killed Herax in the second-last activation of the whole game, and scored one objective worth one single glory at the very end of the game. There were other objectives I might have been able to score, but @yayKM managed to kill the exact person in the exact spot that I needed them to be in in order to score them. >_< The final score was 11-5, oof.
We went over to @[email protected]'s this afternoon to introduce him to Warhammer Underworlds! He played Morgok's Krushas, @yayKM had the Gorechosen of Dromm, and I played Skittershank's Clawpack, which in retrospect was a terrible choice because the Clawpack inspire by killing enemy leaders, and both the enemy leaders had 5 wounds. I was also extremely let down by multiple poor rolls, and @[email protected] ended up winning at 17-15-5. Definitely keen for another game soon, but I'll definitely NOT be taking the Clawpack again against those two warbands. 😛
One of my little Skaven minions got HORRIBLY ganged up on by all three of the Krushas, he weathered two of their attacks but sadly couldn't make the final one and ended up getting extremely squished.
I'm taking a break from Warhammer Quest and Kill Team to get stuck back into some Warhammer Underworlds! I decided to start the goblins of Grinkrak's Looncourt and have done two of the little fellas so far. I'm just doing the box art scheme because it's simple and I like the look of it, keen to get the other five done and get them onto the table.
More Warhammer Underworlds tonight, my murder-ladies versus @yayKM's filthy goatmen. We ended up calling it after the first activation of the third round because she had exactly one 2-wound character left and I was ahead 8-5. Unfortunately I think it might be time to retire the goatmen, or at least until I can get around to stealing someone's Championship format deck, they're just too weak. 😞
We played another game of Warhammer Underworlds tonight, @yayKM's filthy goatmen versus my even filthier and significantly more pustulant devotees of Nurgle. It was the lowest scoring game we've had in ages, I managed to get to 9 glory but only right at the end, and @yayKM only got 2. However, she can take solace in the fact that on no fewer than three occasions she needed to roll a critical success in order to not die (essentially rolling a 6 on a regular six-sided die), and managed to pull it off!
Once we'd finished I came back around the lounge to get the bag and put all the pieces away and Beanie had made himself extremely comfortable next to one of the foam trays.
We played some more Warhammer Underworlds tonight, my sneaky tricksy Skaven versus @yayKM's filthy goatmen. I ended up winning 11-8 but MAN was it tight right up until my very last activation of the whole game. The attacks I made in my second last and last activations were absolutely critical, because had I flubbed them — or had @yayKM successfully defended — she would have won 8-5 instead. Fully SIX glory came from killing her leader (two for killing him because he was a Large fighter, and another four from three different objectives)!
There we go, Domitan's Stormcoven and Ephilim's Pandaemonium are both assembled!
All of the Warhammer Underworlds warbands are push-fit — meaning you still need to chop them out of the sprue, but gluing them together isn't required if you're not actually going to paint them because there's little poles on some pieces that go into holes on other pieces inside the miniatures to keep them together — but holy FUCK were the Pandemonium irritating to put together, they would have been SO much easier if they hadn't been required to be push-fit. 😫
First game of Warhammer Underworlds in a while, and my first outing with the Exiled Dead! @yayKM won 9-7 with Grashrak's Despoilers, and I realised I was playing a couple of things wrong and also misread one of my objectives.
It was a lot of fun though, and the shenanigans with Exiled Dead are fantastic.
