A photo of the Hrothgorn's Mantrappers warband from Warhammer Underworlds, consisting of four gnoblars (goblins), one's lugging traps, another is holding a very large crossbow bolt, and the third's on top of the fourth's shoulders, with the third holding a huge club mid-swing. Hrothgorn is a big ogre with a massive crossbow, and Thrafnir is a sabretooth tiger-looking creature.

Tonight I finished painting Hrothgorn's Mantrappers! I love how expressive they all are, and their names are fantastic as well: from left to right (not including the trap at the very far left), we have Bushwakka, Quiv, Hrothgorn, Luggit & Thwak, and Thrafnir.

I made those rosemary chocolate chunk cookies again, this time I learnt how to properly brown the butter, and HOT DAMN are they good! I screwed up the sizing of the first batch again though (have made a proper note now), and had to chop the chocolate smaller because I'd have run out!

Bread success. I've been doing a bit of fiddling around and the Overnight White Bread recipe from Flour Water Salt Yeast with 25% whole wheat flour and the water bumped to 790mL is seriously delicious.

Another night of Ben over for Warhammer Underworlds and dinner and getting Beanie used to having people over, and it was a smashing success. It only took Beanie maybe 15 minutes to calm himself down (we gave him the same amount of calming medicine as last time), and have booked in another night for the same again, so really interested to see how that goes.

A photo of my DIY miniature painting table setup, it's made of wood and has a rectangular arch over it with a bunch of white LED strip lights attached to the inside of it. There's also two rows of the lights pointing directly forwards at the camera because of the aforementioned running out of room on the underside.

The LED strip lights on my painting table can be cut and connected together with this connector that comes in the package, but the connection is really flaky and my latest additions started cutting out (I'd used the leftover bit from one of the previous packages). 😞 So I decided I'd just go and get another full five metre pack and use it all without chopping it. It's come out pretty nicely and everything's noticeably brighter, though one downside is that I ran out of room along the underside of the arch. Some of it's facing directly forwards which means I'm not quite getting the full benefit of ALL of it pointing down at what I'm painting but ah well. It's fine as long as I don't look directly at it. 😛

I made chocolate butter cookies! And continued my tradition of fucking up the first batch, this time because I didn't realise they were meant to be rolled into a ball in the palm of your hand. Ah well, won't affect the flavour!

A photo of the three miniatures from the Warhammer Underworlds warband Ironsoul's Condemnors. They're armoured in heavy-looking gold armour with flowing blue robes, one's brandishing a huge hammer, another has a mace above his head mid-strike, and the third has her mace over her shoulder. The bases look like stone and have autumn leaves blowing around on them.

Finished Ironsoul's Condemnors! I'm stoked with the robes and the bases in particuar, really happy with how they came out. Just need to varnish them tomorrow.

A photo of the second game of Warhammer Underworlds, this was Myari's Purifiers vs. Morgok's Krushas vs. Lady Harrow's Mournflight. I won it with the Mournflight though Wobin got in a solid second place with the Krushas.

We got some new medicine for Beanie to give him before someone comes over, to hopefully stop him freaking out and barking the whole time. Ben came over for dinner and a couple of games of Warhammer Underworlds, and I'm delighted to report that the medicine worked a treat! Beanie did his usual barking to start with, but he was able to calm down afterwards and we had a lovely quiet evening!

We're going to schedule some more games and visits from Ben and hopefully get Beanie used to people again, and fingers crossed can taper off the medicine so we can have people over to our house like we used to be able to without needing to give Beanie anything at all. 🤞🏻
