A photo of a bulky-looking robot suit, almost anime-style I guess, with a huge gun on one arm. (Yes, they _are_ called Stealthsuits despite being the least stealthy-looking things you could think of!) It's painted in a sandy desert kind of colour with black accents, and the base is also a sandy desert with a tuft of a bright red alien grass on it.

Over two years since I put my Tau Stealthsuits together (https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/1639), and I've FINALLY decided on a paint scheme and actually painted one of them, haha.

A photo of five miniatures (2 Tau, 2 Death Guard, 1 Space Marine Reiver) with an undercoat colour of white or black, with their weapons clearly newly-added because they're fully unpainted raw grey plastic. The miniature in the middle isn't fully assembled and is missing his head and both arms.

With the new edition of Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team coming out and all the changes to squad composition (generally speaking you can only have a single type of special weapon in each squad), I'm doing some converting of my as-yet-unpainted miniatures! Most of them I could just break the glue apart on the arm joints, but for the guy in the middle, his arms were one single piece connected to half the torso, so I had to hack through the whole arm at the shoulder.

A photo of a Warhammer 40K Kill Team board with terrain in it. There's a bunch of industrial-looking bits at the right side, and some granite stony-looking craggy tiered cliffs on the left.

Went over to a friend's place today to play Kill Team! I played Tau this time, not having played them before, and it absolutely sucked. I killed one thing and that was it. Partially terrible rolling, but also the lack of guns I had with AP modifiers meant it felt like I was throwing ping pong balls at the enemy. Also my miniatures were shamefully unpainted.

A photo of two pots of miniature paints, a box of three Tau XV25 Stealth Battlesuits, and a box of five Militarum Tempestus Scions.

In amongst the stuff I picked up today was my delivery from Games Workshop that they somehow managed to send to the office back in March despite my home address being the one on the order. Two more Kill Team squads coming right up!

A photo of a Tau Fire Warrior from the Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team box. It has white armour plates and helmet, black feet, and red cloth clothing underneath, and is looking down the barrel of a long black alien-looking laser rifle.

Well, it's not going to win any awards, and I need to pick up a regular paint pot of the Wraithbone undercoat spray so I can fix my mistakes, but my first Tau Fire Warrior is done, and I'm happy with the colour scheme! This was 100% Contrast paints except for a drybrush of Ulthuan Grey.

A photo of a squad of Tau from Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team. Nine Fire Warriors, one Fire Warrior sergeant, two drones, and a tactical support turret. They're all unpainted, just grey plastic.

And the fiddly plastic bits have been put together into a squad of Tau!
